    Load development for multiple pistols.

I am look to work up a load for some 158gr swc in 38sp that will be used in 3 different pistols. They are a Rossi with a 6in barrel, a ruger lcr, and a 3" bond arms Derringer. I have only ever worked up dedicated loads for 1 firearm before but want something that will be used in all 3, I know it will end up being a compromise somewhere. My thought is to work up a load and check for accuracy in the Rossi and then once that is determined check for pressure signs in the other two pistols. Am I on the right track with this or am I going to blow myself up LOL.

You will be fine. Factory loads are made for all firearms of the caliber. You will not likely see any pressure signs in one gun if you don’t see them in another. The compromise will come in the form of accuracy and possibly barrel leading. Your load “may” shoot well in one gun but be dismal in another.

Thank you for confirming my theory. I will work the load for accuracy in the one I want it accurate for and just wing it on the other 2.

Yep. Anything published in the books, would be safe in all 3.

Could get lucky and find something all 3 like! My 9mm loads for my CZ are just as accurate if not more in my Glock. Both like 115gr Xtremes with Unique and 124gr Xtremes with CFE pistol
